What Ale’s Ya is a retail store servicing the greater Phoenix area; including Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Goodyear, Avondale, and surrounding areas. We sell home brewing, and wine making supplies and equipment.
Our sales staff is knowledgeable and friendly and we love to assist our customers in any way possible to make their home fermenting experience enjoyable and successful. Helping you to be successful with your hobby is how we measure our success.

Chuck Therio, opened What Ale’s Ya in 1996, in Glendale, Arizona after becoming hooked on craft beer and starting to home brew himself.
January 1st 2021 he sold the store to a long time customer Adam & Allie Vath the current owners. Adam has been brewing for 10+ years. We have plans to expand What Ale's Ya. We have added a brew kitchen where we can give lessons, have events and even let brewers use the space to brew or make wine.
We feel that a fresh batch of home brewed beer is unsurpassed in quality and flavor and home brewers today are making the finest beer the world has to offer. We will do our best to help you to do the same!
We support home brewers at any level of expertise from the beginner to the advanced brewer. We try to maintain an inventory to take care of any brewers’ needs. We are willing to special order any product that we may not carry and to sell it at a reasonable price.
We opened for the love of the beer, but soon realized the growing popularity of home wine making; especially wine made from high quality varietal wine grape concentrate kits which started to become available to our industry. The wine these kits make is really good wine and the learning curve to successfully make them is very shallow; anybody can do it! You can make a very fine wine that you would be proud to serve anybody. These wines are comparable to some of the best commercially made wines and are very inexpensive to make. Easy, and you still get the “I made It” satisfaction.
We carry high quality Arizona honey from a beekeeper in the Flagstaff area, for all you mead making people.
